“Dear friends, since God so loved us, we ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us."    1 John 4:11-12

As we go through the Christmas season, it’s easy to get lost in the commercialism of it all and forget what is at the core of Christmas. Sometimes we focus so much on the presents and social norms that we forget about the most important part, love. We get so lost in making sure that we check off everything on our Christmas “to-do” list that we don’t spend time thinking about how to love people. Loving someone doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to go buy an extravagant gift or make some incredible present. Loving someone can be as simple as saying “Hello” or going out of your way to help someone, no matter how small. Maybe it’s just what that person needed at that moment in their life. Maybe they just needed someone to say (whether through actions or words), “Hey, I love you.” So I want to encourage you to show love to someone, no matter how small it may be!

Keep an eye out for leadership biographies on our website. We want to share what God is doing in our lives as well as tell you a little bit about ourselves!

Stirring Our Hearts...

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify Me because it is from Me that He will receive what He will make known to you.  All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you. --John 16:13-15

The last couple months have brought much change in growth within our team as a whole. Starting with Rob and Lindsay bringing to our attention that they felt that God was about to do something huge - unknowing what it would look like we were all a bit apprehensive. With that, we lost two key members of our leadership team who felt God calling them into a new stage of ministry. Although we were sad to see them go, we all whole heartedly believe that God is in their plans and is going to use them and bless them for their obedience to His leading.
We welcomed this new change, a challenge for sure, but also a very exciting time to be apart of Ignition. In the same way, God is big working in huge ways in each of our leader's hearts and it has become more and more evident that He's going to use each of us in a unique way to better His kingdom and draw us to a deeper level of intimacy with Him. How exciting is that!?
As we each work through what God is teaching us individually, we bring it to each other in prayer and it has already made our bond as a team so much stronger through Christ. At the end of September, we and a few of our regular attendees headed out to Harrisburg  for the Supernatural Life Conference. There we were each moved by the Spirit in different ways and our times together as a group has pushed us toward our next steps as a team.
Our mission is to ignite a change in this generation. To show the love of God to those that are hurt and broken and let them know and experience the freedom that is found in Jesus Christ. To spark a fire of revival in the hearts of this generation and equip them with the tools they need to overcome all strongholds in Jesus's name. To lift up and encourage people to go back to their churches and cities and spread the fire of revival.

We have changed things up a bit in our regular service by starting in quiet personal prayer and worship. We believe that coming into our meetings with open hearts and humble minds is pivotal as we continue to be shaped by the Holy Spirit. We have already implemented this for a few weeks and have already felt a change within our meetings.
Through everything that is going on in today's world, we continue pray that throughout the coming weeks, months, and years that God would continue to grow us and use us to show His children His love, peace, and hope. We pray to emanate the love of Christ throughout our daily lives and spark a change in this generation. We ask that you would consider praying along with us as we continue to make transitions in our personal lives as well as in Ignition as a whole. We are currently working on getting our "non-profit" status so we will soon be able to accept support and donations; as running a ministry is not a cheap endeavor!

For now, our arms are open and our hearts are so ready for Jesus to continue His good work in us and we are so incredibly excited to be able to share this experience with you all.

You can follow our journey by checking our website (right here!), Facebook, Twitter (@IGTN_outreach),  Instagram (@ignitigram) or visiting us at our weekly services at 7:00 on Thursday nights!

New Year, New Things!

“Fasting from any nourishment, activity, involvement or pursuit—for any season—sets the stage for God to appear. Fasting is not a tool to pry wisdom out of God's hands or to force needed insight about a decision. Fasting is not a tool for gaining discipline or developing piety (whatever that might be). Instead, fasting is the bulimic act of ridding ourselves of our fullness to attune our senses to the mysteries that swirl in and around us."
We've been so blessed the past two months seeing new faces and being able to be involved with what Christ is doing in the lives of young men and women and our area. Since our costume party in October, we've had new faces become regular faces; we have re-done our meeting place for a more intentional and comfortable atmosphere, and have witnessed changes in the lives of individuals.
God has already worked so much through Ignition and we cannot wait to see what He has in store for us in 2013. To start off the year right, we're having a week of Prayer & Fasting. We're asking anyone who's involved to fast from things for just a week. Whether it be food, internet, spending, or music; any fast is a willing sacrifice to open up your heart and feel God work in your life. As a team, we are striving to see what God wants for our ministry.
Through this week (January 7-11) from 7-9pm you can come anytime to pray with us. To end this week, we will have a great friend and Pastor coming to speak with us on Friday, January 11. This is a night for encouragement and healing. If you have any friends or family members in need of prayer, have them come out at the end of the night (around 8:45) and we will bring them before the throne of Christ, uplifting them in prayer.
This week is a serious time, and we do not take it lightly. We hope that you will join us as we anticipate the great things that God is going to do this year.
